This was one of the more interesting commissions that I have received. This lady was in college for interior design and was looking for something to use as a sample for her window treatments. . The room, (they use a board with all of their swatches and paints, textures etc.), was to be in contemporary fashion with black, white and red as the primary colors. . The customer needed something that would hang well and be able to be draped over things. The piece of Japanese chain mesh, (I chose this linkage because of it's looseness and texture), only had to big enough to be tacked onto her board so it came out to be about 6" by 8". |
.
.

The customer wanted to see how the piece looked
in different positions so, on the left, the piece is just hanging,
in the center it is laying flat and, on the right,
it is hanging and wrapped.
.
.
We thought that draping the mesh over something
might be nice so I also included this picture of it
draped over my crystal balls, it just looked
so neat that I had to photograph it!
.
| This commission was done completely
via e-mail and phone and, unfortunately, I have lost the lady's commentary
on this piece and her e-mail address, this was done a long time ago now.
. I really enjoyed this piece, as you can probably see, it's been a long time since I have made larger-scale armor and it was nice to do it again. |
