This commission was a little difficult because the customer didn't know what size finger she had or her boyfriend. She also wanted a rush on the pieces so she didn't have time to find out their sizes exactly or to do more than one phone call to me. I had never seen the Canis stars so the customer described them to me and I drew from that. I looked online and was happy to see that her description was very accurate. . I walked her through a few ways to "test" what size ring one takes... I know the lady and her boyfriend so that helped and I actually remembered his size from a previous discussion we had luckily. . The customer had also never seen a chalcedony but I had a feeling that she'd like it so I described it as best I could. Trying to explain guages and stones sizes is a little difficult without visual aids so this was exciting but a little scary. ;) . |

| Since we didn't have a lot of time for me to send pictures
back and forth, sketches etc. I was very nervous to see if the rings, and
stones, were what the customer had envisioned so I took a few pictures
of the stones and then scanned my sketch that I did while I was on the
phone with her and here's what she said:
. "I cannot believe how much what you drew looks like what I was thinking. My goddess, you're good!! My only ONLY reservation is the height of the chalcedony, and it is a small reservation. Can the stone be set kind of low in the metal? If not, I completely trust your judgement, and both stones are beautiful." . Because of her reservation about the height of the stone on her ring I set her stone into the shank a little because it was a very tall stone. . The rings fit and the customer(s) were very happy with them. I was even lucky enough to see the "proposal! . |
